Scotland
A second road trip to Scotland was long overdue. Weeks before moving in as flatmates to our new apartment in Utrecht, Mathijs and I decided to head to Scotland once more. This time with a motorhome!
From walking in the British Lake District to celebrating my birthday at the Old Man of Storr close to Portree on the Isle of Sky, two weeks of fun were guaranteed. A total of four distilleries were visited!
We took the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull, from where we drove up to Lake District and stayed in Coniston. After that we drove up to Oban. Morvich and Portree (Isle of Skye) were up next. Then we headed back onto the mainland to stay at a small town close to Inverness after which we drove down to the Cairngorms National Park. From there we headed southwards to a campsite close to Auchterarder and on our last day we headed to Newcastle to catch the ferry back home to IJmuiden.

My first proper adventure back in Europe was a one week road trip through Scotland with a good friend of mine. We spent a week hiking and drinking whisky in beautiful Scotland.
We took the ferry to Newcastle after which we drove up to Edinburgh where we stayed the night. Next up were Auchterarder, Pitlochry and Aviemore where we climbed to the top of the Cairn Gorm. "Swam" a bit in Loch Ness and stayed in Fort William where we kayaked on Loch Linnhe with beautiful views of Ben Nevis. On our way back to the ferry we hiked up to the Lost Valley and stayed the night at Loch Lomond.
